Odor Removal: Hydroxyl Technology

July 10th, 2013 · 1 Comment

When trying to remove an unwanted odor there are many techniques that can be used to eliminate it. Typically the first step in odor removal is removing the source. The source of the odor could range from a burnt pan with food on the stove to wet carpet that has been sitting for while. But many times just this step alone is not enough. Depending on what caused the odor, the odor may have been absorbed by other materials in the room or building, such as furniture, walls and ceilings. Cleaning surfaces that may have absorbed the odor may also dramatically lessen the odor, but sometimes is not enough. Cigarette smoke and protein fire soot are difficult odors to remove and when cleaning is not enough we have another possible solution. Surfaces can absorb the odors into their pores where no person or cleaning tool can reach and a smaller molecule is needed to penetrate into the odor molecules.

We use a hydroxyl unit to deodorize air, surfaces, contents and structure simultaneously.

Hydroxyls are created naturally in our atmosphere when the sun’s ultraviolet rays react with water vapor and these molecules decontaminate and sanitize what it comes into contact with.┬áMany other techniques for removing difficult odors such as ozone, thermal foggers, and chemicals are less effective and unsafe to use around pets, plants, people and sensitive materials. Hydroxyls are safe to be around and has other benefits as well. Hydroxyls also kill mold, bacteria, and viruses which will leave the air healthier to breath prior to using this technique for removing odors.

So if you have an unpleasant odor we offer our services to you to help remove this from your home or business. This process can be used in a range of situations that include:

  • Fire and Smoke Restoration
  • Water and Flood Restoration
  • Mold Mitigation
  • Sewage Backups
  • Odor Elimination
  • Carpet and Upholstery Odor
  • Biohazard Waste and Trauma Cleanup
